Wonky road markings to be repainted

Contractors in the New Forest are having to repaint the white lines on the A337 after an attempt to paint them in the dark left the lines wobbly. The line was rejected by the council, and will need to be repainted in daylight at the expense of the contractor.

Mini bike rider loses bike after two days

A 14-year-old boy had his mini-bike seized by police just two days after paying £90 for the machine. An officer responding to complaints about the boy riding the bike in a public area whilst not wearing a helmet claimed to have almost collided with the bike as it came around a bend on the wrong side of the road. His mother requested the bike was crushed rather than returned to the boy.

'Racing' teenagers in court over death crash

Two men were in Edinburgh High Court last week over the death of 19 year-old pillion James Manders last week. The court was shown CCTV footage of Andrew Sneddon’s bike at 54mph moments before Manders was flung from James Davidson’s pillion seat in a collision with a car. Sneddon’s pillion passenger denies the two bikes were racing in Peffer Place and Harewood Road in Edinburgh. The case continues.
