Factory-backed fun: KTM launch limited run 450 Rally Replica for 2024

The limited edition KTM 890 Adventure R Rally isn’t the only focussed off-roader joining the Austrian firm’s orange arsenal for 2024, with a new competition-only 450 Rally Replica set to provide privateer racers with the hardware required to take on the world’s toughest trails.

Powered by a 450cc SOHC single cylinder engine, paired with a Pankl six-speed gearbox (tech used by the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team), the Rally Replica has been tested and approved by KTM’s top racing talent including this year’s Dakar Rally winner, Kevin Benavides.

Previous versions of the Rally Replica have been raced to success on the world stage, with this latest machine promising a modest 139kg dry weight, alongside comfortable ergonomics, a grippy seat, and components developed in torturous arid and stony off-road terrains to ensure they keep running through days of relentless competition.

“The KTM 450 Rally Replica is an extension of our factory development program, and it has been the choice of countless riders on their quest to either just complete rally races such as the Dakar, or reach results close to the professionals,” Rally Technical Manager, Stefan Huber said. “This model usually sells-out fast, and it’s great to see so many of them battling at the rallies around the world.”

The reason these bikes are likely to sell out fast is because they will be limited to just 80 units for the coming year. The motor is housed in a competition-developed steel chassis, with an aggressive soundtrack provided by a racing Akrapovič exhaust system.

Obstacles are negotiated via a set of 48mm WP Xact Pro closed cartridge forks, plus a full adjustable single shock, with directions found in a carbon fibre rally tower mounted in front of the flat bars. For more on the bike, go to ktm.com today.

There are adventure bikes, and then there are rally bikes that are so in-your- face exceptional that they can’t even tell the difference between smooth tarmac and a boulder field. The new KTM 450 Rally Replica is firmly in the second camp.

KTM have given it more power through its redesigned cylinder head. There’s also a brand-new chassis and swingarm, with revised linkage and a new shock absorber for improved drive in the dirt.
