BMW ended 2024 with a whopping 210,408 new bike sales – the highest figure in the company’s 102-year history.

“We at BMW Motorrad will spare no effort to expand our top position in the global motorcycle premium segment, with numerous new and innovative models and products for our customers in 2025,” head of sales and brand, Stephan Reiff said. “Again, this year, our customers and fans can look forward to numerous world premieres, highlights, events and sentiment-focused offers, all about motorcycles.”

Speaking with MCN at last November’s EICMA trade show in Milan, BMW Motorrad CEO Markus Flasch pledged to deliver 17 new models in 2025, including a new parallel twin F450GS adventure bike.

“We will also work very hard and strengthen the portfolio on the four-cylinder sport bikes and we will bring the spirit of the R, RR, and GS to new segments,” Flasch said. “One of the segments that we will enter is the 450 two-cylinder segment.”

Looking at last year’s sales figures more closely, BMW sold an impressive 118,727 bikes across Europe, making it the strongest sales region for the brand.

Unsurprisingly, their home market of Germany had the highest figures on the continent, with 26,177 machines leaving showrooms – a figure up by over 8% on the previous year.

One of their biggest sellers across all markets was the large-capacity GS family, with over 68,000 customers purchasing an R1300GS, R1300GS Adventure, or outgoing R1250GS models. For context, Ducati’s entire sales figure for 2023 stood at 58,224 across all models.

“Based on these success drivers, BMW Motorrad is well-positioned for the future and so I approach the year 2025 with a very positive outlook,” Markus Flasch added.
