Scooting sidecars! Watsonian create new three-wheeled outfit for Lambretta V-Special range

Gloucestershire sidecar experts Watsonian are expanding their scooter compatible range, with a new fitting kit for the four stroke twist-and-go Lambretta V-Special line up.

Thanks to the retro inspired Lambretta having a smoothed metal body, the team at Watsonian have had to design a new specific subframe, which bolts in under the bike’s footboards.

Once in place, customers can then choose between the £6295 GP Manx body, complete with its tall front screen and octagonal nose. The Manx is also designed to be fitted on either side of your bike, to comply with different road laws internationally.

Alternatively, you could equip the £5395 Prescott which can be seen in the photos. Named after the hill climb track in the Cotswolds, the Prescott design can be tracked back to 1946 – when the original bodies were produced using the reserve fuel tanks on RAF Mosquito bomber planes, which Watsonian purchased from the Air Ministry at the end of the Second World War.

Both options sit on a tubular steel chassis, which is then powder coated for longevity. This is then complemented with hydraulic suspension and a 12in outer wheel to keep the proportions right.

On top of the sidecar, the fitting kit costs £1200 including VAT. If you’d prefer, Watsonian will build you a finished product with a brand new V-Special 200 and Prescott sidecar for £10,995 on the road.
