WSB: Scheib joins Orelac Racing VerdNatura for 2020 season

Maximilian Scheib will contest his first full season in the World Superbike Championship next year after signing with the Orelac Racing VerdNatura team.

The Chilean will ride the team’s Kawasaki ZX-10RR upon his return to the series. Scheib has previously appeared in WSB for the MV Agusta Reparto Corse team, debuting at the final two rounds of 2018.

“It’s a dream come true for me,” explains Scheib. “I am excited about this new adventure, and I am eager to start as soon as possible. I will begin this year with no pressure, but I have my expectations. I will work hard during the pre-season!

“Phillip Island and Qatar will both be new race tracks for me, but once we get to Europe, I am sure I will be able to show my potential.”

Victory in his second Superstock 1000 wildcard appearance of 2016 led to Scheib being signed by Nuova M2 Racing the following season. He would end that campaign eighth overall after securing three podiums.

Scheib moved to the Aprilia team in 2018 and found instant success. He took victory at Brno and achieved another four podiums throughout the year. Scheib ended the season third in the standings and was rewarded with wildcard appearances in the final two rounds of WSB.

This year Scheib secured the Spanish Superbike title ahead of Christophe Ponsson.
