WSB: 2017 dates finally revealed

1 of 1

World Superbike organisers Dorna have finally released a provisional calendar for the upcoming season, ending months of speculation after the dates failed to materialise at the end of the 2016 season as expected and with the new season due to kick in only three months’ time.

The timetable sees no significant changes other than one expected one – the replacement of the Jerez round at the end of the season with a return to the Portimão track in Portugal. The British date at Donington Park remains largely unchanged, coming in late May as has become traditional.

However, while the calendar has been provisionally confirmed, one date in October remains to be confirmed. That comes alongside paddock gossip that there could also be further changes underway to the format of this year’s race weekend.

One round that will be subject to a schedule change, however, is the season-ending Qatar race, which will move from the traditional Friday-Sunday format this year to see racing from Thursday to Saturday.
