World Superbikes finally release 2016 calendar

The World Superbike championship has brought to an end months of waiting by finally released a provisional calendar for the 2016 season.
The new schedule doesn’t bring the massive shake-up expected by some in the paddock as Dorna continues to tinker with the series after their 2012 purchase of the series – but does see a return to the superbike heartland of Eastern Germany.
As announced last week, the series will now return to Lausitzring, with a raceday of 18 September, while British fans can see the series in action on it’s now-traditional 29 May slot at Donington Park.
The 2016 Motul FIM Superbike World Championship calendar is as follows:
- Australia – Phillip Island GP Circuit – 27-28 February
- Thailand – Chang International Circuit – 12-13 March
- Spain – MotorLand Aragón – 2-3 April
- The Netherlands – TT Circuit Assen – 16-17 April
- Italy – Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola – 30 April – 1 May
- Malaysia – Sepang International Circuit – 14-15 May
- UK – Donington Park – 28-29 May
- Italy – Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli – 18-19 June
- USA – Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca – 9-10 July ***
- Italy – Autodromo Nazionale di Monza – 23-24 July *
- Germany – Lausitzring – 17-18 September
- France – Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours – 1-2 October
- Spain – Circuito de Jerez – 15-16 October **
- Qatar – Losail International Circuit – 29-30 October
