Davies evaluates major Ducati test items

Chaz Davies made up for some track time lost to bad weather at Motorland Aragon last week by working through some major component changes on his official Aruba.it Racing Ducati WSBK Panigale vee-twin on Thursday at Jerez.

Davies, about to go into his third season as an official Ducati rider, was pleased with the effort and the results it brought about for him and his team. “I got through a good bit today, the important things” he stated. “Swing arm, front suspension and a few other things. 2016 stuff and electronic items. I picked what I liked and I didn’t like. There were a good few positive things. We were running a bike where we have it for race set-up.”

On the final day of the tests Davies will still have a lot of work to complete, including trying out the new and stiffer Pirelli rear tyre, the 989, that some other riders used at Motorland recently.

“Tomorrow we have a couple of engine parts to test,” said Davies. “We have a few electronics things again. I got a new tyre from Pirelli, the new 989 rear, which I will try when we get a bike set-up which I am sure is as good as we will get it here.”
