WSB: Giugliano Fastest Man Pre-Superpole

WSB returnee Davide Giugliano (Aruba.it Racing- Ducati WSB) continued his amazing comeback from long term injury top lead the field going into Superpole, having topped the final free practice session that counts towards qualifying.

Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) was second overall but did not improve his best time this morning. His team-mate Tom Sykes did but was unable to overtake Rea.

The Kawasaki and Ducati show continued with Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati WSB) fourth fastest, just over half a second behind Giugliano after not improving his best lap in the third session.

Top Aprilia riders was Leon Haslam (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils) in fifth place after three sessions, with the fastest S1000RR belonging to Ayrton Badovini (BMW Motorrad Italia SBK Team) sixth.

Former Moto2 rider Jordi Torres (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils) placed himself seventh, Argentina’s Leandro Mercado (Barni Racing Team Ducati) was an automatic Superpole 2 qualifier (in eighth), as were David Salom (Kawasaki Team Pedercini) and Alex Lowes (Voltcom Crescent Suzuki).

Assen podium finisher Michael van der Mark (Pata Honda WSB) was 11th and has to now face Superpole 1 to allow him to join the top ten in Superpole 2 later this afternoon.

Leon Camier (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) stood in 14th place after the regular timed sessions.
