As has been the recent norm in WSS racing, the big three – Patrick Jacobsen (Core” Motorsport Thailand Honda), Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) and Jules Cluzel (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) battled each other for pole but this time it was a first WSS pole for Jacobsen and his Thai race team.

Times were close to the previous best but Jacobsen had a decent advantage of 0.180 seconds over Sofuoglu, with Cluzel just 0.218 behind the lead.

Former 250GP race winner Roberto Rolfo (Team Lorini Honda) used his Sepang knowledge to the max to go fourth today, with day one quickest rider Lorenzo Zanetti (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) fifth.

The second row was completed by Gino Rea (CIA Landlords Insurance Honda).

Another British rider, Kyle Smith (PATA Honda World Supersport Team) was seventh, and the third MV in the field was eighth, thanks to Alex Baldolini (Race Department ATK#25 MV Agusta). Christian Gamarino (Team Go Eleven Kawasaki) placed ninth, the next best Kawasaki rider behind Sofuoglu.

The top ten was completed in a dry qualifying session by rookie Sepang runner, Marco Faccani (San Carlo Puccetti Racing Kawasaki).

In the 2015 season score of pole positions in WSS, Jacobsen has now broken his career duck with one, Sofuoglu has two and Cluzel is way out front with six.
