Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati WSB) secured his second race win of the season after 25-intense laps at the 3.610km Laguna Seca circuit in Monterey.

The holeshot rider from pole, Davies ran out front, setting the best lap of the race on lap five as he made an escape. His plans were partially helped by a fight between the official KRT riders just behind, which slowed the forward progress of Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team).

Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) managed to hold onto second place ahead of Rea.

Davide Giugliano (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati WSB) secured fourth place after escaping the best efforts of Spaniard Jordi Torres (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils).

Alex Lowes (Voltcom Crescent Suzuki) scored double-digit points for sixth, Sylvain Guintoli (Pata Honda WSB) placed seventh and his team-mate Michael van der Mark (Pata Honda WSB) was just one place behind.

Leandro Mercado (Barni Racing Team Ducati) went ninth and Leon Camier (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) completed the top ten.

After crashing mid-race Leon Haslam (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils) finished 13th.
