WSB top three finally get some Aragon laps in

After a full morning of sunshine on the track surface at Motorland Aragon the temperatures trickled up high enough for the first action to be joined by some of the big name riders.

Both Pata Honda WSB riders, Sylvain Guintoli and Michael van der Mark, took to the track just after lunch time, as did Jonathan Rea on his KRT machine. All three official riders were only doing laps to check some items and base settings, at much less than full pace, as the track surface was still too cold to keep any heat in the tyres. Conditions remain largely sunny, with all present hoping for higher track temperatures before the inevitable drop later in the afternoon.

“I put some winter gear on under my leathers and went out,” joked Sylvain Guintoli. “It is not the best conditions but we have a few things we need testing even without a lap times. At least we have not come here for nothing and I will do about ten laps. The track surface gives a weird feeling when you are riding.”

Tom Sykes (KRT) elected not to run but like almost all of his rivals will have one more chance to ride at Jerez on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
