Video: Michael van der Mark, A Life Behind The Bars

If you’re a fan of Pata Honda Racing’s Michael van der Mark, then you’ll love this short film about the superbike rider. In fact, even if you’re not a fan already, you’ll probably enjoy this beautifully shot little biopic anyway. 

Put the kettle on and give it a watch ahead of this weekend’s fourth round at Assen in the Netherlands, as the Dutch rider for the Dutch team heads to his home round. The Assen WSBK round is particularly significant for van der Mark who, in winning last season’s World Supersport championship on the Honda CBR600RR, became the first solo motorcycling world champion to emerge from the Netherlands for 40 years.

Watch as the the 22-year-old talks about his childhood, growing up around his father’s transport company, the major influences on his career and how he first got into motorcycle racing.
