Summer break too far for Lowes

1 of 1

After Laguna Seca has been completed the SBK hoards will head back to Europe, with some of the teams heading to Portimao for a (now increasingly rare) testing opportunity on 21 and 22 July.

Some others – Pata Honda and Voltcom Crescent Suzuki among them – will not.

For Lowes, after Laguna the summer break is simply too long, especially with no test to take part in.

“It is far too long because when we turn up for Friday at Jerez then it would be a longer break off the bike than it was during the Christmas break” said Lowes.

“It is not good because your reactions will not be quite there when you get back. We are not allowed to test elsewhere and we are not testing at Portimao, for some reason.

“I would like to test, maybe not the time at Portimao but it would be an ideal situation to test a week or ten days before Jerez. The team has been working very hard so it is good for them to have a break, but seven weeks is too long really.”
