WSB entry list released

Just 22 days away from the start of the 2014 World Superbike Championship, race organisers have released an entry list of who we can expect to see on the Philip Island grid in three weeks’ time.

The table brings few surprises, although one thing it does serve to highlight is the number of teams already moved to the new Evo spec rules, which – much cloer to the British Superbike restrictions – will become mandatory for 2015.

In fact, a number of manufacturers, such as Tom Sykes’ Kawasaki team, are planning on running riders in both classes, no doubt with an eye to the future.

The other notable from the field is the range of manufacturers. With eight different bikes lining up on the grid (Kawasaki, Suzuki, Honda, BMW, Aprilia, MV Augusta, Bimota and EBR) the series now has twice as many makes as the MotoGP grid, although Bimota’s presence on the grid is still dependant on a homologation rule change expected next week.
