British Eurosport has announced their 2014 World Superbike team, with Steve Day joining Jamie Whitham for the world series.

Jack Burnicle, previously the primary WSB voice for the channel, will become UK-based, as he moves to concentrate on the extended coverage of MCE British Superbikes that will now see Saturday’s qualifying sessions televised.

Day, who deputised for Toby Moody a number of times on Eurosport’s 2013 MotoGP coverage, is a former British Supersport racer with a background commentating for the Thundersport GB series, which is partly run by his father Richard.

He also has experience in WSB, covering four rounds in 2013 alongside Neil Hodgson, and will be joined in the box by the vastly experienced Jamie Whitham.

“I’m thrilled to be commentating on the hugely successful World Superbike Championship with British Eurosport” said Day, speaking to MCN after announcing the deal.

“With Tom Sykes defending his crown and now BSB champion Alex Lowes joining in the fun, I don’t think there’s a better time to be involved and I’m raring to go.”

“The extended coverage of BSB and WSBK for 2014 on British Eurosport is great news for the fans, they will still get to hear Jack and James together on BSB and I hope they enjoy a new sound to WSBK too.”
