PTR boss Simon Buckmaster believes that his rider James Ellison can win the World Supersport Championship in 2011. Former BSB runner-up Ellison will ride for the new Bogdanka PTR Honda team and will benefit from the same level of bikes and team infrastructure that saw Eugene Laverty fight for the WSS crown for the past two seasons.

The new team will run alongside the Parkalgar Honda squad of Sam Lowes and Miguel Praia and is a partneship between PTR and Polish race team Bogdanka Racing.

Ellison will be joined by Polish rider Pawel Szkopek in the two man team.

Buckmaster said: “James is a Championship contender straight away and we are keen to unlock the potential that Pawel obviously has. It is an exciting time for Bogdanka PTR Honda, we look forward to making our mark in 2011.”

Former World Endurance Champion, double European Superstock Champion, and multiple BSB race winner, Ellison said: “I made the choice to ride for this team and in this Championship because I know I have the ability to win the World Championship. I could have taken different rides but I believe in this project and my only aim is to win the title – that gives me a strong platform to advance my World Championship career.”
