Leon Camier will ride for the official Alitalia Aprilia squad again in 2011 after agreeing terms with the Italian manufacturer to stay with the team for a second season.

During his debut WSB season the reigning BSB champion has been a sensation having seriously impressed with his race pace which has netted him three podiums. In recent months Camier became the target for a number of top teams including Yamaha and BMW to race in WSB, but Aprilia had first option on the 24 year old having signed him on a two year deal at the end of 2009.

Camier currently sits ninth in the overall championship standings but is unlikely to improve on the position after announcing that he will miss this weekends Imola race due to his broken scaphoid sustained at Nurburgring.

He said: “So far my recovery is going according to plan and I’m pleased with how things are progressing but both Aprilia and I think that it’s best to wait until I’m 100% before I go back out on track. I’m just at the start of my career in World Superbikes and it’s not worth the risk of setting back my recovery, or worse, injuring myself further.”
