WSB Miller: Haga leads the way in morning warm-up

Xerox Ducati rider Noriyuki Haga clocked the fastest time in this mornings warm-up session at Miller. The Japanese rider will start the two races from sixth position on the grid, his best qualifying performance of 2010 and his pace in warm-up bodes well for the rider who has had a tough season to date.

In form Spaniard Carlos Checa secured second position ahead of championship leader Leon Haslam in third.

Shane Byrne continued to show his speed around the American track with Luca Scassa in fifth and Michel Fabrizio in sixth making it five Ducati’s in the top six. One possible reason for this is the unexpected cooler track temperatures which appear to favour the 1200cc twins.

Front row qualifiers Cal Crutchlow and Max Biaggi finished the 20 minute session in ninth and tenth.

Jonathan Rea remained unfazed by his injuries following his horrific Superpole crash and blamed front end chatter for his relative lack of pace finishing down in 14th position.
