Heading into the seventh round of the World Superbike Championship at Miller Motorsports Park, Leon Haslam leads the championship standings by 15 points after his stunning race two win at Kyalami last time out.

Last year Haslam secured tenth in a rain affected aggregate timed race one before crashing out of race two fighting for the podium with fellow Brit Jonathan Rea.

In contrast, title rival Max Biaggi secured sixth and fourth in last years races onboard his factory Aprilia, but given his impressive 2010 form and consistency he remains a favourite for the two races. Biaggi could also get the use of the gear driven cam Aprilia motor for the first time this weekend, which will be a an asset along the fast 0.66miles front straight.

During the two years and four WSB races at Miller there have only been two winners. In 2008 Spaniard Carlos Checa claimed an emphatic double onboard the Ten Kate Honda – his first WSB wins of his career.

Last year American Ben Spies dominated proceedings onboard the Sterilgarda Yamaha R1.

Italian Michel Fabrizio has good form at the American track having secured third and second last year and also has the added benefit of 3KG less weigh onboard his factory Xerox Ducati this weekend.

Brit Jonathan Rea was third in race two last season. His result was backed up by Checa finishing second in race one and Ryuichi Kiyonari fourth and fifth last confirming the fact that the smooth, open track clearly suits the powerful Ten Kate Honda.
