WSB Miller: Crutchlow turns race day around with strong race two podium

After running off the track in race one avoiding Jonathan Rea who crashed on lap four, Cal Crutchlow secured an impressive third place podium in race two.

The 24 year old now has three podiums to his credit in 2010, but still sits ninth in the championship standings, 150 points off the lead, but just 46 points off third.

Speaking to MCN, he said: “We’re doing a good job but we’re still not fast enough. I’m doing the same times as Ben did last year but we’re no where near the guys at the front. We’ve got more power but we haven’t had any developments where as Ducati have three kg’s less and Aprilia have got their gear driven cam motor.”

“Right now I don’t think my pace is reflected in my championship position, but people are riding incredible in this championship. The pace is unbelievable, I don’t give up but it’s hard.

“My speed is good, I’m riding hard but I feel that I should be finishing further up. Both myself and James are pushing hard and we’re both saying the same thing. We need to go away and come up with something different with the bike in the summer break.”
