Silverstone WSB: Gino Rea shines on his soil, Sufuoglu third

British rider Gino Rea dominated the second Supersport 600 free practice today during WSB’s tenth round at Silverstone.

The Honda Intermoto rider, currently seventh in the general standing, eased to the top of the session 1.043 seconds ahead of Eugene Laverty (Parkalgar Honda) and 1.777 seconds up on Kenan Sofuoglu (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda).

Laverty (leader of yesterday’s practice session) starts the weekend really well, in spite of a wet track in this morning’s session. Kawasaki Motocard rider Katsuaki Fujiwara held fourth, 0.087 seconds ahead of Alex Lowes, top wildcard on the Seton Interceptor Yamaha. 

The French Matthieu Lagrive and his Triumph posted the sixth time, 0.201 seconds ahead ofAlex Lowes’ brother Sam on his GNS Racing Honda. Joan Lascorz, currently second in the general standings, finished 18th. He outpaced ParkinGO Triumph riders Chaz Davies (20th) and David Salom (22nd), respectively fourth and fifth in the championship.
