Silverstone WSB: Rea leads Brit charge in practice

Jonathan Rea led an all British charge at the end of the opening Free Practice session at Silverstone today.

The Hannspree Ten Kate Honda rider was the only man to set a sub 2.07s lap time to finish ahead of equally fast starter James Toseland.

Rea said: It’s a good layout and it’s nice to ride. At the moment my bike isn’t working that well, but I don’t think anyone’s is. There are a few areas where I’ve got chatter but it’s nothing to serious and I can ride around it.”

Alstare Suzuki rider Leon Haslam bounced back to the front of the grid after a tough previous round in Brno. The 27 year old set the third fastest time to finish ahead of fellow Brit Cal Crutchlow.

First qualifying gets underway at 15.45 local time.
