Troy Corser will miss the ninth round of the World Superbike Championship in Brno this weekend following his crash in the final minutes of first qualifying on Fiday.

Corser high sided his BMW S1000RR and suffered concussion and bruising to his chest and neck. The 38 year old Australian was air lifted to Brno hospital where he underwent X-rays and a CT scan and was kept in overnight for observation.

Corser will be discharged from hospital this morning but has been ruled out of the rest of the race weekend. He is expected to return to the track later today.

He said: “Unfortunately I cannot race this weekend. I feel quite exhausted right now, and I have a pain in my chest. It was a huge impact, and I am happy I was not hurt badly. I remember the crash pretty well: I somehow lost the rear, and then I high sided. I would have loved to race in Brno, but we all agree I need a couple of days to rest now to be able to start in Silverstone.”
