Haslam predicts tough weekend ahead
World Superbike Championship leader Leon Haslam heads in to round three at Valencia in confident mood determined to maintain his 100% podium record of 2010.
With one win and three second places in the opening four races, Haslam has a 16 point lead over second place man Max Biaggi.
Speaking to MCN, Haslam said:
“I actually feel less nervous heading into this round than I did at the start of the season because I know I’ve got a package capable of running at the front again this weekend.
“The races that are tough are the ones where you’re on the limit and you are still half a second off.”
“It’s going to be hard again though in Valencia and I think the times will be even closer than they were in Portimao.
“Checa and Haga are going to be fast here, Johnny had a good test here and I’m expecting both the Yamaha’s to be up there this weekend. Plus there’s Max off course!”
First Free Practice gets underway at 12.45 today.
