Kyalami WSB: Sykes steps up to make three Brits on provisional front row

Factory Yamaha man Tom Sykes was one of the big improvers in this morning second qualifying session and has now moved up onto the provisional front row in fourth to join compatriots Leon Haslam in second and Jonathan Rea in third.

Xerox Ducati rider Michel Fabrizio maintained his place at the top of the leader by setting the fastest time of the session once again even though it did not better his first qualifying pole time.

Alstare Suzuki rider Yukio Kagayama claimed fifth with American Ben Spies in sixth. South African sensation Sheridan Morais was once again impressive onboard the factory Kawasaki. Riding as a replacement for the injured Makato Tamada, Morais secured seventh ahead of Ryuichi Kiyuonari and Carlos Checa.

Shane Byrne claimed 14th with Tommy Hill in 17th meaning that all five British riders will participate in this afternoons Superpole session.
