Brno WSS: Crutchlow continues to lead the way in second free practice

Cal Crutchlow retained his position at the top of the time sheets during second Free Practice session ahead of this afternoons qualifying session. Crutchlow’s blistering 2m 02.292s lap was a new Supersport best lap for the circuit giving him an advantage of 0.840 seconds ahead of Kawasaki man Joan Lascorz.

Crutchlow said:
“I did the whole session on the same set of tyres. In fact the front was the same front tyre I used at the end of the first session on Friday and I set my fastest time on the last lap so we’re in good shape. It’s good to be this fast but I know that the others will catch up. Getting into the 2m 02s isn’t that hard.”

Parkalgar Honda rider Eugene Laverty claimed third position 1.157 seconds behind Crutchlow after suffering his second crash of the weekend. Laverty lost the rear of his Honda in a near identical crash to yesterday but once again was completely uninjured with only minimal damage to the bike.

Fabien Foret continued his strong weekend performance in fourth with Ten Kate Honda man Kenan Sofuoglu fifth.

Michael Laverty riding the CRS Honda finished the session in 23rd with team-mate and new signing Sam Lowes in 28th spot.
