Yamaha Supersport rider Fabien Foret could miss the opening round of the World Supersport championship at Phillip Island tomorrow following a crash in final qualifying.

The Frenchman crashed within the opening minutes of the session suffering a dislocated right shoulder during the fall.

Despite not improving his lap time, Foret still holds sixth place and a provisional second row start with his lap time set during first qualifying on Friday.

Speaking exclusively to MCN he said: “As I hit the ground I felt my shoulder dislocate, but as I was sliding along he ground it went back in.

“This is the best thing that could happen because it means it was only dislocated for a few seconds, but it is still very painful and at the moment I do not know if it will be possible for me to ride tomorrow.”
