Monza World Superbikes: Neukirchner wins first WSB race

1 of 1

Max Neukirchner has taken his debut World Superbike win after a race long wheel to wheel battle.

Neukirchner swapped places with Yukio Kagayama and Noriyuki Haga constantly throughout the race but ultimately Neukirchner managed to use the Suzuki’s horsepower to stay just in front of Haga as he crossed the line.

Yukio Kagayama never stopped challenging for the lead from the top two riders but his mistakes got worse and worse throughout the race, culminating in a late breaking manoeuvre that went completely wrong on lap 11, dropping him to fourth behind Bayliss.

Bayliss tried hard to hang on to the front riders but never managed to get in to a position where he could challenge for the lead.

Max Biaggi took fifth place after spending the whole race trying hard to catch up with the front runners.
