Phillip Island World Supersport: Andrew Pitt is on the pace

Overnight rain in Phillip Island resulted in damp conditions for this mornings opening World Supersport Free Practice session.

Typically windy conditions at the coastal Australian circuit quickly began to dry the track and in ever improving conditions Australian Andrew Pitt set the pace onboard his Hannspree Ten Kate Honda with a best lap of 1min 39.744secs almost five seconds off the current lap record.

Gil Motorsport Kawasaki rider Chris Walker was the best placed Brit in seventh with Craig Jones 15th, Jonathan Rea 18th and Graeme Gowland 31st on his first visit to the track.
