Phillip Island World Superbikes: Troy Corser leads the way in Australia

Troy Corser secured provisional pole position for Sundays Phillip Island World Superbike race onboard his Yamaha Italia R1.

Corser continued his impressive form and qualifying pace at the Phillip Island circuit and leads compatriot Troy Bayliss onboard his Xerox Ducati by just 0.038 seconds.

Troy Bayliss set his best lap on his final circulation after completing the most laps of any rider in the hour-long session with 31 laps to his credit.

Bayliss was pushed all the way by his young Italian team-mate Michel Fabrizio, who secured third position after making minimal changes between this morning’s free practice and first qualifying.

German Max Neukirchner was once again well on the pace onboard his Alstare Suzuki making it two twins and two four cylinders on the provisional front row.
