Qatar World Superbikes: Troy Corser again from Troy Bayliss in WSB second qualifying

Yamaha’s Troy Corser continued his dominance at Qatar by setting an impressive 1min 58.560sec lap time in today’s second qualifying session.

In improved weather conditions, which saw a drop in the gale force winds endured yesterday, top speeds increased whilst lap times for the entire field tumbled.

Ducati rider Troy Bayliss stayed in touch with his fellow countryman to set the second fastest time 0.269 seconds behind.

German Max Neukirchner impressed once again on the Alstare Suzuki to go third with Noriyuki Haga showing no ill effects from his big high side yesterday to take fourth.

Ducati man Lorenzo Lanzi got one over his fellow Italians by outpacing Max Biaggi and Michel Fabrizio, whilst Carlos Checa made a big step to go eighth ahead of Fonsi Nieto and Ruben Xaus.

Gregorio Lavilla scraped into this afternoon’s Superpole shootout by taking 15th position, but it was another tough session for British Superbike champion Ryuichi Kiyonari in 20th spot.
