Valencia World Supersport: Craig Jones stays on front row, Jonathan Rea takes sixth

Craig Jones remained on the front row of the grid for tomorrow’s World Supersport race at Valencia after showing no ill effects of his high speed crash this morning.

Like a number of other riders, Jones was unable to improve on his Friday qualifying lap time due to an increase in track temperature, but his early pace was good enough to keep him in the top four of the grid.

Australian Andrew Pitt stayed on pole thanks to his Friday lap time, whilst on form Spaniard jumped up to second with an impressive1m 36.879secs lap.

Jonathan Rea was another man to improve with the young Brit climbing up to sixth place 0.6 seconds of his team-mates best.

Graeme Gowland made some significant set-up changes to his Benjan Honda which saw his leap up the timesheets to 12th meaning he will start from the third row of the grid.

Kawasaki’s Chris Walker was unfortunately unable to improve his lap time after finding it difficult to hold a line in the hotter track conditions and dropped to 14th spot.
