Sub West wins Supersport race

Australian Anthony West has won the Supersport race at Silverstone this afternoon in appalling conditions.

The Yamaha rider, who is currently standing in for the injured Kevin Curtain, secured the win by more than 33 seconds ahead of Honda’s Robbin Harms.

Katsuaki Fujiwara rounded off the podium places by finishing third.

The rain, which has been a problem all day at the Northamptonshire circuit, caused several top riders to crash out, including championship leader Kenan Sofuoglu and Broc Prakes.

Britain’s Chris Jones was also a victim of the poor conditions as he crashed out on lap 13.
