Bayliss goes quickest in qualifying one

Australian Troy Bayliss knocked more than a second off his free practice time to go quickest in the first timed session of the weekend at Silverstone.

The Ducati rider recorded a time of 1:25.295 during his 19 laps on the Northamptonshire circuit.

The surprise of the afternoon was Lorenzo Lanzi who was second quickest with a 1:25.952 just ahead of Britain’s James Toseland.

But Honda man JT will not be too disappointed with his session as he went quicker than his best run this morning with a 1:26.203.

Second British man on track, Dean Ellison was once again slowest and was almost two seconds slower than his fastest time this morning with a 1:32.582.
