Haga takes his first win at Monza
Pole man Noriyuki Haga has won the first World Superbikes race of the day at
The Yamaha man put in an unbelievable ride to win the race at the home of his team, Yamaha Motor Italia, just ahead of
Italian Max Biaggi, who has had a mixed season since his return to World Superbikes struggled with front lock throughout the race, but he held on to take the final podium spot at his home race.
Lorenzo Lanzi almost took out half the field on the first corner as he failed to make the new chicane which has been added to the circuit.
Many of the riders were suffering from the tough conditions at the Italian circuit which took its toll physically on both the riders and the bikes with tyre blistering the main problem.

His team-mate, Roberto Rolfo, looked set to be the surprise of the day as he led for the first time in his WSB career then battled for second place with Tosleand. He looked set to get a podium spot in third until his destroyed tyres caused him to retire on the final lap.
Bayliss admitted after the race he had also struggled with is tyre at the end, despite his Ducati Xerox team choosing the hardest compound tyre.
