Corser quickest in WSB free practice

Yamaha’s Troy Corser heads the way at Donington after the first free practice session, ending up 1.5 seconds faster than his closest rival Troy Bayliss.

Three Aussies topped the group with Alto Evolution Honda’s Josh Brookes finishing the session with the third fastest time behind the ’06 and ’05 champions.

James Toseland finished this morning in fifth, behind his Hanspree Honda team-mate Roberto Rolfo.

The session was black flagged around a third of the way through due to an incident involving PSG Kawasaki rider Regis Laconi, and Max Neukirchner also succumbed to the conditions but rejoined the circuit.

Dean Ellison ran well throughout the hour session consistently drifting around the top ten positions, ending the morning in a respectable 11th.
