World Superbike Brno test: Sebastien Charpentier buries demons to go fastest

1 of 1

Reigning World Supersport Champion, Sebastian Charpentier buried his demons of the Brno circuit by topping the time sheets in a two-day official test at the track.

Twelve months ago Sebastien Charpentier had a big crash testing at the Czech circuit, which resulted in a badly broken Pelvis.

This time the test went completely to plan with the Frenchman finding a good direction and set-up for his Hannspree Ten Kate Honda and now he’ll be looking to get back to his winning ways when the series returns to Brno for round eight of the championship.

Current series leader Kenan Sofuoglu made it a perfect couple of days for the Ten Kate Honda team by matching Sebastien Charpentier’s lap time on the final day.

Third place went to Yamaha’s Broc Parkes who was fastest on day one, but got piped by the two Honda men.

Stand in rider Steve Martin made a good account of himself to take fourth.

The former World Superbike man got to ride the factory Yamaha for the second time, having already raced it at Assen and lapped 1.1 seconds slower than Charpentier’s best.

It proved a disappointing test for the Kawasaki pairing of Fabien Foret and Pere Riba. Foret holds second in the championship standings but up in seventh, 1.5 seconds off the pace.
