Brno World Superbikes: Biaggi denies Toseland the double

1 of 1

James Toseland was denied a double at the Brno round of the World Superbike championship as Max Biaggi took the win in the second race.

Again it was Toseland Biaggi and Haga at the front with Haga managing to stretch out several seconds of lead at one point. But as The Japanese rider’s tyres started to fail him Max Biaggi went past second placed Toseland to hunt him down.

Toseland never managed to get back past the Italian Suzuki rider and had to settle for second place on the podium as Haga slid down the field to finish in fourth.

Third place went to DFX Honda rider Michelle Fabrizio who worked his way up through the pack to take his first World Superbike win since the last time the paddock visited the Czech circuit.

Troy Bayliss’ championship hopes went even further down hill as the reigning champion failed to get passed fifth place Roberto Rolfo and is now fourth in the championship behind Toseland, Biaggi and Haga.
