WSB skips Turkey

The 2007 World Superbike calendar has finally been confirmed as a 13 round series starting in Qatar next month. 

The provisional calendar included a 14th round rumoured to be the awesome Istanbul circuit in Turkey on 7th July. 

MCN has learned although there was open dialogue between WSB organisers, FG Sport and the Turkish federation they were unable to finalise a deal in the limited time available. 

It is believed that all parties involved will try to make the event happen during the 2008 season.

The 2007 season kicks of on 24th February at the Losail circuit in Qatar before heading straight to Phillip Island the following weekend. 

During the year the calendar takes in nine countries with three events in both Italy and the UK. 

New additions include a long awaited return to Donington Park on April 1st and a visit to the Vallelunga circuit near Rome in Italy on 30th September.
