Following his spectacular crash out of the lead at the Brands Hatch World Supersport race, Britain’s Craig Jones has been diagnosed with two hairline cracks in his pelvis and muscle damage.

Craig Jones suspected the injury following a massive high side out of the lead at Clearways was more serious than originally thought and after seeing British Superbikes doctor Toby Branfoot he underwent a scan where the full extent of his injury was revealed.

Although Craig Jones remains in a lot of pain he is making good progress and remains confident he will be fit and ready for the next round of the World Supersport Championship at Lausitzring in Germany on September 9, 2007.

He said: “After the crash itself I went to the Clinica Mobile and they said to wait for four days to see if the pain went away, but by Monday I was in agony so I had to see my doctor.

“I got refereed to Toby who took x-rays but they didn’t really show anything so on Thursday I had a scan and it showed a lot of bruising, muscle tear and two small cracks on the right side of my Pelvis.

“I’ve been given a lot of stretches to do and I’m back in the gym now doing cycling. I obviously took a big whack when I landed, but I’m feeling a lot better than I did.

“I could probably ride a bike now although I don’t know how hard. I’ve go three weeks until the race so I’m confident I’ll be fine.”
