Brands Hatch World Supersport: Tommy Hill looking forward to dicing with top guys

British Superbike rider Tommy Hill is looking forward to dicing with the big boys as he starts his first World Supersport race at Brands Hatch tomorrow.

The Yamaha rider, filling in for the injured Kevin Curtain, has impressed so far this weekend, despite two crashes.

But Tommy Hill is looking forward to getting his big chance in front of thousands of fans at the Kent circuit. Hill will start the race from 11th on the grid, but is ready for the challenge and possibly a podium.

Tommy Hill said: “It’s been quite a change riding at world level and on a 600 again and it’s taken a bit of time to adapt my superbike style.

“I didn’t get a chance today to ride with some of the top guys so they are still an unknown quantity to me but hopefully I’ll get some time on track with them tomorrow morning.

“I’ve got high hopes for a podium tomorrow but I’d settle for top six if need be.”

Preparations for tomorrow’s home race were not the best with the 22-year-old crashing out in the second qualifying session.

Tommy Hill added: “I tangled with a slower rider at Surtees bend and came off worst, although luckily I’m not hurt.
