Brookes signs for 2007

Former Australian Superbike champion Josh Brookes will stay with the Team Bertocchi squad in World Superbikes in 2007, riding a Honda Fireblade.

The team will be totally restructured, with new owners and financial partners, and a increase in funding. The swtich from Kawasaki to Honda will reunite Brookes with the manufacturer for which he won the Australian title in 2005.

The team will continue to be managed by Sergio Bertocchi, under the name Alto Evolution – Team Bertocchi.

“I am just so wrapped to have this deal,” said Brookes. “I hope to repay the Honda and the team by getting some good results. The Fireblade is my favourite bike and I just loved riding it in the Suzuka 8 Hour this year, hwere I came seventh. The team is building everything around me, exactly what i think I need for success, and I’m sure 2007 will be a great year.”
