Bayliss takes WSB title

Troy Bayliss has secured the World Superbike title after a fifth place and a win at Imola.

The Ducati rider is now 98 points ahead of James Toseland with only 50 points left at the last round in Magny Cours.

Bayliss secured his title in race one with a fifth place finish then went on to seal the deal with a second race win.

Alex Barros took his first World Superbike win after a charge through the pack in the first race ahead of James Toseland and Andrew Pitt.

Bayliss went all out in race two to take the win despite an aggressive charge from Alex Barros who took second place.
