WSB: Silverstone Friday
WSB First qualifying: Troy Bayliss and Troy Corser dominated the first qualifying session for Silverstone WSB despite big crashes for Bayliss and Toseland.
Toseland, Chris Walker and Bayliss all crashed on the same damp spot on the track, one after the other and got the session red flagged.
Toseland was the perfect gentleman and helped Bayliss get his bike back up but the Ducati rider went on to crash a second time.
Fonsi Nieto took an impressive third spot on the provisional grid on his Kawasaki ZX-10R with Yamaha’s Noriyuki Haga taking fourth.
James Toseland managed to hold the fifth fastest time.
The session saw the first time ever that British Foggy Petronas rider Craig Jones managed to out-qualify his team-mate, Aussie, Steve Martin. Meanwhile wildcard Tommy Hill has qualified in a creditable 12th place on the Virgin Yamaha.

Supersport first qualifying: In World Supersport first qualifying, Sebastien Charpentier has qualifed on provisional pole on the Winston Ten kate Honda with a 1:30.516 lap. Yamaha duo Kevin Curtain and Broc Parkes are just behind with 1:30.711 and 1:31.001 respectively, followed by Pere Riba with 1:31.492. Stephen Neate is 21st quickest for Angel Racing, with Stuart Easton 25th, Sam Owns 31, and Tom Tunstall 36th. To see the full timesheet, click here.
In Superstock 1000 first qualifying six Italians ooccupy the top six places with Claudio Corti on provisional pole. Guy Sanders has qualified ninth quickest for JJR Ridenow Kawasaki. Chris Walker has topped the free practice times for the Silverstone World Superbike round on Sunday, May 28, 2006.
British fan favourite Walker has posted a time of 1:36.563 on his Kawasaki ZX-10R, one second clear of the next rider, Michel Fabrizio. Noriyuki Haga is third quickest for Yamaha, with Troy Bayliss fourth, Regis Laconi fifth, and James Toseland in sixth place. Craig Jones is 25th quickest, but he has lapped faster than Alex Barros, Fabien Foret and Shinichi Nakatomi. To see the full timesheet, click here.
In Supersport free practice, Pere Riba has posted the fastest time on the MSS Discovery Racing Kawasaki with 1:40.768, over two seconds quicker than Mattheiu Lagrive, Barry Veneman and Maxime Berger.
