Miguel Duhamel is on pole for Saturday’s 65th Daytona 200. Mat Mladin has pole for the AMA Superbike round at the Florida circuit on the same day.

Honda rider Duhamel set a fastest Daytona 200 time of 1:40.928 (at 105.224mph).

The Canadian veteran, now based in Las Vegas, is targeting an historic sixth win in the race this weekend.

Duhamel matched the record for highest number of wins last year. He and Scott Russell currently have five.

The front row is completed by Jason DiSalvo on a Yamaha (105.134mph), Eric Bostrom (104.795mph) and Jake Zemke (104.209mph).

Britain’s Jeremy McWilliams – on a Buell XB12R – recorded a speed of 103.574mph.

Australian Mladin set a track-record lap of 1:37.075 seconds (109.400 mph) to take pole in the AMA event.

The front row for the opening AMA Superbike Championship round is completed by Ben Spies (108.857mph), Ben Bostrom (108.354mph) and Daytona 200 pole-sitter Miguel Duhamel (107.996mph).
