Hodgson secures fourth

Neil Hodgson had to settle for staying static in fourth place in the American Superbike championship after fourth and sixth place finishes.

The former world champion fought to fourth place in Saturday’s race at Tooele, Utah, but hit the gravel once during each leg of the red flagged and restarted Sunday’s race leaving him only able to grab a sixth place finish.

Suzuki’s Ben Spies won the first race with Honda’s Jake Zemke taking Sunday’s outing.

Hodgson now sits fourth in the championship 100 points behind championship leader Spies.
