Bayliss tops first day

Troy Bayliss has taken provisional pole for the Misano round of the World Superbike championship.

The Ducati rider topped the first qualifying session that saw exactly the same top three as the opening free practice.

Troy Corser took the second fastest lap 0.2 seconds down, follwed by Regis Laconi and Chris Walker.

Steve Martin heads up the second row on the Foggy Petronas followed by Andrew Pitt, Michel Fabrizio and James Toseland.
