Kagayama tops practice

Yukio Kagayama has set the fastest time in the opening practice session for the Brno round of the World Superbike championship.

The Suzuki rider just 0.06 of a second ahead of former champion James Toseland on the Honda Fireblade and Regis Laconi on the Kawasaki ZX-10R.

Both Toseland and Laconi finished the session with exactly the same time, down to the thousandth of a second but Laconi slipped to third in the rankings by having a slightly slower top speed.

Finishing the front row of the provisional grid was factory Ducati rider Lorenzo Lanzi over a tenth of a second behind Kagayama.
