1 of 1

Noriyuki Haga has taken his first pole position since 2002 after setting the fastest lap in the superpole session for the Brno round of the World superbike championship.

The day’s practice and qualifying sessions had been dominated by Tory Bayliss and Yukio Kagayam who took a top spot each, but come the one lap superpole session Haga stormed to pole finishing over half a second ahead of James Toseland.

Corser and Kagayama were outdone by their team-mates when it counted with Lorenzo Lanzi taking the third fastest lap and Troy Bayliss taking the final place on the front row of the grid.

Bayliss managed to hang on to head the second row in front of Kagayama Andrew Pitt and Karl Muggeridge.
